Well, I am finally home from my bass club classic and it was very tough to say the least. Lake Guntersville has been beat to death! Last week BFL had their super tournament there with 120+ boats and the weekend of my tournament Fishers of Men had their regional tournament there with a 140+ boats. The first morning, I got to leave out boat 4 due to my club ranking and pulled over to Pine Island in front of Waterfront and caught a nice 4.80 pound bass. I thought this would be a great start to my day, turns out it was just the begining of a bad day. The boat traffic got crazy around 8am and I finished the day with 11.86 pounds with 3 fish. That placed me in 6th going into the second day I was 4 pounds behind the leader. The next morning was reverse take-off so I left out almost last. I went back to my buzzbait bite on Pine Island and proceeded to carry on my bad luck for the previous day. When I left there I had missed apporxmately 25 pounds with my best 5. I had 20+ blowups on my buzzbait and hooked up on a 5pounder and one around 7pounds but just could not get them to stay hooked up! I had a trailer hook and changed it and even took it off at one time and just kept on missing fish. I got very discouraged and had to fight it the rest of the day once the sun came up. I ended up having 2 keepers for 5 pounds and won 10th place money for the tournament. That was my last tournament for the year so now I can just fun fish and do some scouting for next years big bite! Me and my partner Jason Millirons finished the year paying $450 dollars in entry fees and wining $1300 for the year not to bad for a couple of rookies Hope everyone has a safe time on the water and as always, thank God for every sunrise and sunset even on the bad days : ) Gas=$200 Motel= $100 Rods and reels= $1200 Catching your first fish ever on a frog 20min before weigh-in= Priceless Thanks, Dustin p.s. I would like to thank Go2Baits and Pure Fishing, My success came because of your products this week guys! Thanks a bunch!
